Je cree ce petit sujet qui malgres mes recherches n'avait pas l'air d'exister et que pour ma part je considere essentiel aujourd'hui...

Le niveau d'anglais de 99% des francais etant juste tres mauvais et que communiquer avec son prochain ( ou patient) est une des base de notre societe.

So now, the rule is no one speaks any other language than english on this topic.

My first question is:
-Are the english courses at the nursing school look like the english one in high school?
that's what i am afraid of... please tell me i am wrong.

I had 19 in Baccalauréat in English, so, i d'on't really worry about that.
But I have to say, some medical words are a little bit hard to learn.....

Doesn't mean anything... I had 6 and now I am completely bilingual, maybe you have been lucky

the medical vocabulary can be a bit tricky, there are a lot of very close words (latin and greek bases) but sometimes you can say something far from the french sense (Eg: Catheter).

Giving courses in english is useful if you expect your students to read and learn from websites, books or magazines written in this same language.
But in my own humble position , I consider that it would be way more interesting for our patients to have mandatory deaf and mute language courses in nursing schools . Not all D&M patient are able to read from our lips, and, in some circumstances it's really impossible (Eg:in the OR).
Besides, depending on the location of your practice, English might not be the most useful language. Where I work, hindi and chinese are languages that REALLY matter.
